Forged Chute Knife with Green Box Elder
Description:
It took A.G. 10 years of exhaustive searching to find a company that could, and would, make the forged knives he designed. That applied to this knife, but also to his new version of the A.G. Russell Sting. The entire knife, from tip of blade to butt of pommel, is drop forged. He finally found a company in Taiwan that forged his Sting and the Chute Knife of Japanese 440C stainless. At the 2023 Blade Show in June, we were able to arrange the purchase of a small supply of beautifully grained Box Elder Burl Wood, double dyed yellow and green. The color really brings out the grain in the wood. Once dyed, the slabs are stabilized for durability. The quantity will be small and will be limited to how much wood we can find of this quality. The 5-1 2 clip point blade is 440C at 57-59 Rc., the optimal hardness for the steel. Measures 9-1 2 from tip to butt with a very tapered tang. Weighs 7.5 oz. Includes a very fine leather sheath in the Loveless Combat Style. Made in Taiwan. These handle scales are added in the A. G. Russell shop in Rogers, Arkansas.
